COVID-19 Campus Update (WRMC)

We continue to monitor the COVID-19 Pandemic closely. We continue to remain COVID – FREE. On Friday 7/31 ALL WRMC employees will be tested for COVID by the Ohio National Guard as part of the State of Ohio’s testing plan for Skilled Nursing Facilities. We think it would be fool-hearty to presume that all of our tests will be negative. Following the guidance set forth by the Ohio Department of Health, we have a plan in place on how we will respond should we have asymptomatic staff positive cases. Our staff in the care areas have been wearing, at minimum, face shields and surgical masks since the beginning of April. In August, through the Ohio Department of Health we will also be testing every resident in Skilled Nursing. The specific date for resident testing has not yet been determined.

In accordance with the Governor’s new order, all residents are now required to wear face coverings when they leave their apartment.

Medina County moved to a Level 3 yesterday on the State of Ohio’s COVID ALERT SYSTEM. Level 3 means there is very high exposure and spread; activities should be limited as much as possible for those in Medina County.

This has caused us to change the Visitation policy for our Campus. Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing will change to window visits only. Those visits will continue to be coordinated through our Life Enrichment Team Members.

We are suspending ALL visitation for Independent Living, effective this evening July 24th, 2020 at 7:30pm. We will be working with our Life Enrichment Team to establish window visits for Independent Living. We will have more information out next week on how this process will work.

Families are still able to make drop offs at the Gatehouse. Family members that are on the list for medically necessary visits are able to continue those; with the condition of wearing a mask for the duration of your time on campus. Medically necessary visits need to happen within visiting hours and the family member must leave when their task is completed.

MEDICALLY NECESSARY VISIT HOURS ARE MON – FRI 9AM – 6PM & Weekends from 10am – 5pm

We have not taken this decision lightly and we understand its impact. At this time the safety of our community members is our number 1 priority.

Should you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me directly,

Sincerely,
