Campus Update (WRMC)

WRMC Community Members & Families,

As you are aware we have continued to test our staff along with our Skilled Nursing and Assisted Residents weekly for COVID-19.

This week we tested both staff and residents utilizing rapid response antigen testing.
Yesterday was the resident testing day and the results came back negative for Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing.

Today we tested all of our staff with 1 clinical team member testing positive. The staff member is asymptomatic and has worked in both skilled nursing and assisted living in the last 7 days. This team member had been wearing all of their appropriate PPE while in the building.

Additionally, we had a dining services staff member that reported new onset of symptoms yesterday evening and has now tested positive through offsite rapid response testing. This team member does not work on the floors in any of the care areas of the building and has no potential exposure to any residents.

Per Health Department and CDC guidelines we will need to continue our quarantine in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing, along with continued weekly resident and staff testing. Next week we will be testing residents on Tuesday using the rapid response tests. Staff will be tested on Wednesday using PCR testing, with results taking 3-5 days to return.

The transportation department has returned to its operations. We will still be working with residents in the care areas to move or change their appointments to telehealth visits whenever possible in order to lessen further risk of exposure.

As you know, we have had a “Pandemic Plan” in place since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic to ensure the safety and health of all of our staff and community members. We will continue to comply with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and protocols to minimize the exposure of staff members, community members, and clients.

Our staff working in care areas will continue to wear N95 masks, faceshields, gowns, and facility provided scrubs. I know this is a challenging and scary situation, but this is what we have worked so hard to prepare for. We will get through this together and we will persevere.

Sincerely,
Jason French – Administrator
