Dr. Gina Boerger, PT was the guest speaker at the Springfield Masonic Community (SMC) monthly Lunch and Learn Series. Nearly 40 guests, enjoyed a good lunch of fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and a dessert of delicious cookies. When everyone was well fed, the guests learned ways to be more positive in their own lives.
The connection between health and positivity remains not fully understood. Researchers suspect that people who are more positive may be better protected against the inflammatory damage of stress. What is clear is that there is definitely a strong link between positivity and health.
Dr. Boerger offered 16 simple tips for “daily positive practice.” Her recommendation was that people should choose five of the practices to incorporate into their daily life. As the Lunch and Learn was breaking up, you could hear people discussing their practice choices. Due to the stress COVID has brought to everyone’s lives, many people had similar choices, smile often, engage in regular exercise and find humor in your life.
