We are looking for a full-time Life Enrichment Coach, and it could be YOU!

So, what would your job entail?

Assists the Manager of Life Enrichment in planning and implementing programs of activities on both an individual and group basis for residents of the facility.  Responsible for documentation.

  • Develops and organizes an activity program designed to meet the interests, physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of the residents on the unit or units assigned.
  • Responsible for acquiring supplies and equipment to successfully implement planned programs, working closely with the Manager of Life Enrichment.
  • Assemble necessary supplies and equipment and carry out scheduled programs at time and location stated.
  • Clean up area after completion of programs.
  • Assists and supervises residents in planned daily activities.
  • Properly charts attendance and refusals on participation records and furnishes to activity office.
  • Invites, encourages, and helps transport residents to planned activities both on the assigned unit or units as well as to large group activities planned for the entire facility.
  • Plans and implements “one on one” individual activities as needed on assigned unit or units, based on activity assessment findings and the residents interdisciplinary care        plan; documents goals and outcomes.
  • Assists in the planning and participates in resident outings and/or activities as requested by the Director of Activities, also assists other activity staff in tasks            necessary to meet the needs of the department.
  • Assists in planning monthly campus program schedule and evaluates outcome, sharing this information with the Manager of Life Enrichment.
  • Post monthly activities and events proper locations on unit or units assigned as well as in residents’ rooms.
  • Prepares and maintains all necessary documentation for each resident on assigned unit or units.  This documentation must be accurate and completed in the required time frame.  Documentation must be in compliance.
  • Attends interdisciplinary care plan conferences as required.
  • Maintains a friendly, respectful and helpful attitude toward residents, families, staff volunteers, and visitors.
  • Knows and respects “resident rights” at all times, including maintaining confidentiality of resident information, as well as departmental information.
  • Attends department meetings and facility inservices as directed.
  • Attends workshops and seminars as approved by Manager of Life Enrichment to improve job skills.
  • Follows facility dress policies.
  • Drives facility vehicles to transport residents to and from scheduled activity functions on and off the grounds of the campus.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned consistent with experience and department needs.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree (A. D.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES – LICENSES – REGISTRATIONS:

36-hour Therapeutic Activity Director Course

90-hour Basic Activity Director’s course preferred

Must have valid Ohio Drivers License and be insurable by the Ohio Masonic Home’s insurance carrier.
